I actually haven't seen GW:EN going for 40 bucks in any store so far.
Why was it a stupid question to have in a poll? It basically touched upon what everyone has been saying, "I don't have a credit card, but I would use PayPal" or "I've heard bad things about using a credit card through PlayNC, so I'd prefer using PayPal." If PayPal were available in the store, then great. Unfortunately, prices would go up because it costs money to receive payments.

So, you haven't seen GW:EN going for $40 anywhere, that just makes it more valid to me that it the BMP should not be available now.

I could care less Im just happy all the items are custom so people can't try to sell them for 100K+.
It was just a ripoff of movies and stories.
300 anyone?

Yup, yet they spend all day playing and posting on a forum about a game they supposedly hate made by a company that they claim is incapable of making a fun game. What sad little lives they must lead.

blame your benighted EU banking laws that allow your greedy banks to charge outrageous charges for a card.

NCsoft does not regulate your quaint banking laws your government does.

Hell I don't mind to pay an additional few dollars to get something from the internetz.

But I refuse to pay 50 Euro's a year only to make a one time payment at the ingame store. As all other internet purchases I make are either by paypal or bankdeposit.

Nobody is missing the 4 missions, they have no replay-value.

Everyone is keen to get the great weapon skins.

I assume so - the info was picked up by Gamenews sites

this is an option for PlayNC purchases (not GW store)
- PlayNC purchases were valid for BMP

i am somewhat displeased because anet somehow failed to communicate that they are releasing these badass weapons with the BMP. their initial advertisement said very little about possible rewards, and given their track record, everyone probably expected some marginally effective greens.

had anet simply released a picture of the undead sword, even if it's just a tiny blurry picture, everyone will flock to qualify for the BMP. their failure to communicate is probably the main reason of all the complaints.

personally i'm not really worried. given anet's track record, you'll soon see these weapon skins dropping from HoH chests, or elite area chest, or maybe that zaishen chest in the temple of balthazar, or maybe even pvp reward points.

Exactly, there was no way to guess best skins ever would be released in that pack.

If i had the patience, I'd go back to Anet's statements after release of Sorrow's Furnace cause i read some stuff back then that contradicts what s going on here.

I have to say it is true people were petitioning long before it came out.

Gaile gave a reason why paypal is a bad idea for Arena Net. It was either on the poll thread or on her wiki talk page.

This is the only legitimate reason I can see that people could be bummed about it. But the issue is much more complicated than "anet just needs to accommodate all countries" Making things work between countries & ensuring that it's still good for the co. can get mucky.

I have the luck to have one of those paysafecard vending machines near my place. Unfortunately the availability of that card isn't very wide spread. The countriy list on paysafecard.com seems to be from the time before that company filed for bankruptcy and some other company bought them.

I got lucky, but NCSoft failed to provide reasonable alternative payment methods since the introduction of the only store!
Maestro Card (available in many European countries) -> UK only
SMS (2months overdue now) -> UK only
IRV (2months overdue too) -> UK+Germany only
Paypal -> the poll on guru was derailed by ignorant credit card owners

The other problem: what to buy? (except for EotN)
PvP packs -> were discontinued during the BMP promotion phase
Character slots -> not available on PlayNC.com
GW merchandise -> not eligible to get the BMP

During the summer both German Elite Fansites joined forces to call for a protest in GtoB international. During that protest we learned two things:
1) GtoB id districts are limited to 50
2) Anet/NCSoft's claim to "listen to the players" is just advertising

There are very good reasons that people choose credit cards over paypal. The only thing ignorant is your assumption. Also, the reason Paypal was shot down had nothing to do with what the people wanted but with what ANET realized was a horrible business choice for them. Gaile pointed it out in her talk page I believe.

I'm sorry but you must have something wrong with your or be serioursly thick. The principle is that not everyone has access to a credit card, fair enough. Why is this a problem? It was the only way to obtain the pack, thats the point most people are making but your not intelligent enough to see that.

I live in the Netherlands and I have a credit card. I got one mainly to pay for stuff online, and I've never used it in stores or whatever. They're just not that common over here.

And people are regretting not getting the BMP because the weapon skins are among the best Anet's ever given us.
