Please tell me is living 250 years that strange? or is it strange you can pull a meteor out of the sky to hit someone AND THEY STILL LIVE.
People can use magic in the game world. They aren't immortal. Ergo, pulling meteors out of the sky makes sense; living 250 years to GW2 does not (for a human mortal, which our characters are).

I didn't "work on" anything, I played (and quite enjoyed) a game, and will continue to do so for as long as it's fun. Games aren't about accumulating virtual "stuff," they're about having a good time. If you want to take it all with you, you're doing it wrong.

All that said, when I get tired of GW1 I'll probably be done with the Guild Wars franchise. Everything I've heard about GW2 just sounds too MMO to me.

Characters have no value to me besides the time I put into them while playing. If I don't play the game, they're worthless, and I won't care. It's only when I played the game a lot that I actually thought titles and such mattered.

It's not like anything you grind in Guild Wars really matters - to the game or to anyone else.

In GW2 I expect to be playing a Charr and taking every chance I can get to eat humans.

-tasty- [pass the hoisin sauce please, Gwen's descendants could use a little seasoning]

So...

Not sure there will be much I'll need to carry over anyway.

Everyone else will be playing those hentai-looking pod people and doing naked line dancing, so... it'll be a fresh start all around.

I am looking for a different Game experience,(I love G.W. and will continue to play it) but it's time to play some thing new. As for my Characters , 250 years later they must be dust at this point. Hey there are always there decedents to play with.

I probably won't be getting into GW2. By the time it comes out, SC 2 will already have been out a year (and you know how long ppl played SC for). Plus, I smell D3 in the air.
The obnoxious title grinding in GW is about the only thing you can do after beating the game for the 10th time. It feels like playing Everquest, except you don't get to see your integer raised, which is even WORSE.

As soon as anyone starts seeing their achievements in GW als 'working' for it, you seriously have to wonder what it is you really want in this game.

I love fresh starts. It will feel like being reborn with all the knowledge from the previous life still intact, and I've been guaranteed to keep the most valuable asset of my character which is her name, everything else can burn to ashes

And hey, green hentai pixies, what is there not to love

Failed for some people perhaps because their expectations weren't met. Life sucks like that, huh?

Me, I'm really looking forward to a fresh start. I get to keep the names and that's enough for me.

Giving up an old account is a hard thing to do lol! I still access my old diablo 2 LOD accounts every month just to make sure they don't get deleted. Somehow it feels like the guy pressing the button in the hatch in the first season of Lost... Is it reall necessary? Would I regret it that much when the accounts seize to exist? Letting go is a soo hard...

Well, sure, but SC2 isn't exactly an RPG, and D3 would probably have a different style (although a 2009 release date wouldn't surprise me). I'm actually expecting to play both. Er, all three, make that, SC2 looks like some fun as well.

Ah, amen.

But like some people are saying, I don't really care if anything carries over. New game, new characters, new fun. Personally I can't wait

With that established, I advise you to recreate your character in GW2 regardless of your previous accomplishments in GW1 so that I won't have to endure your grammatically incorrect name every again, assuming that you will be able to carry over your GW1 characters from GW2, which you won't.
grammar police ftw

Obviously your point is slightly lost as your speeling is a tad shut.

On topic - would like my main chars to carry over - if not then no biggy - two games to play!!!

I won't be carrying on with the game after GW2 comes out regardless decided on that ages ago = mass give-away when I can be bothered ^^

/fail on HoM can see the reasoning behind this post
