I remember buying Guild Wars because the girl I like played it too.
I remember my first dye drop in pre and she telling me not to sell it because there were traders after who would buy it for lots of money.
I remember we started dating.
I remember we doing all the quests together and all the missions.
I remember getting to lvl 20 and it was so great!
I remember we finishing the game and not knowing what to do (lol).
I remember we braking up.
I remember she started dating with another GW player.

I remember being terrified of the mursaat as I ran myself to the grotto from ice caves (going the long way, as I'd never beaten the mission yet) and only just barely making it by the skin of my teeth to buy my first ever piece of 15k armor (the top was all I could afford.)

Good times.

I remember being kicked from parties as an MM because I hadn't capped Flesh Golem yet.

I remember when no one would reveal the locations of Dervish Elites.

I remember reaching level 20 in the Crystal Desert AND ascending and feeling like I had really become a new person.

I remember mapping everything from Old Ascalon to the Frost Gate because I couldn't find the primary quest to take me from Northern Wall to Fort Ranik, not realizing that I had been IN Fort Ranik upon completing Northern Wall.

I remember before I knew about wikis and the whole game was one amazing discovery after another.

I remember GW being hard, a long time ago. I remember getting stuck at Raisu Palace because PUG after PUG failed horribly. Being good at the game is boring lol.

I remember when this game wasn't nearly as good as it is now. I remember not having heroes and being forced to either manhandle the (even worse back then) henchmen AI or have to PUG (which was every bit as unpleasant in 2005 as it is now, people's nostalgia aside) if one only had a small group of in game friends. I remember playing the quests outside Yaks over and over and over again because the henchmen were so cripplingly stupid and there was no one that wanted to do them when I was around. I remember when there were no holiday announcements and hat give aways would go on while I was playing with me none the wiser (Wintersday '05, for example). And I remember getting so tired of fighting a game that wouldn't let me play with my friends (and no one else) that I stopped bothering with it 3 months after I bought it and paid it no mind until I read about heroes in Nightfall.

That's what I remember.

I remember seeing the white mantle and wanting to get their armor.

I remember customizing my first gold weapon thinking you could just un-customize it and sell it.

Well it was around the time of prophecies only. Monks were complaining that they weren't getting the respect for the amazing job they were doing: healing and protecting other players.

So Large numbers of Monks appeared in Thunderhead Keep (one of the hardest/most annoying missions). And did not accept any invites.
"No Deal No Heal" was commonly said by every monk.

After a day or two, things started to get back in order with monks and other players.
Weren't they also trying to charge to go into parties and such saying they are the most important and that you should pay them.

I remember posting on the boards saying, "Forget them just take Henchmen." as at the time I had pretty much done evrey mission with just henchmen.

I remember when PvE used to be hard.

I remember when ranger bows did a crapload more damage.

I remember when spirits couldn't be killed.

I remember when everyone was friendly, and making a new friend every PUG wasn't a weird thing.

I remember when lvl 20 armor was at ventaris refuge.

EDIT:
I remember seeing "Pro Runner - Going to XYZ - 5k" everywhere you went.

I remember the game used to be a lot funner...

This thread makes me depressed.

I remember reaching post searing and being worried about having enough Skill points to buy all the skills I wanted.

I remember messing up a build and having to farm mobs for very little EXP to fix my build.

I remember being level 15 and spending a week killing mobs with just me and the monk henchmen in the jungle because I thought being level 20 would make me powerful and didn't want to wait.

I remember when PVP Arena's were off the map of most majour outposts. *I think you can still see the portals for them*

I remember playing the Beta weekend and while I knew about the instances I was thinking the game was more like D2, and where you just moved forward for the most part.

*off topic* but what was the cooperative mission in the Beta? Is that a actual area in the game? I just remember it being some desert and you couldn't take henchmen into it, you had to go with other players.

I remeber when you didn't require ascention or lvl 20 to enter FoW or UW.

Took my war/monk into FoW with a guild member and a PUG at lvl 17, got a few OMG after we entered and was the last man standing after completing the first quest and moving on to the undead farther in.

I remeber when nobody knew what city came next and exploring was permitted with out any locked doors. Trying to go from Piken Square to Yak's Bed for the very first time and got a little lost, ented Dragons Gullet and was almost instatly pary wiped by the Hydras.
