Thoughts on minipet promotions for other countries

Hi all, i am not sure what it would help, placing a request for a mini pet promotion in South Africa here, but Arena net asked me to go this route, so i am asking all South African Guild wars players to support the idea for a mini pet promotion in South Africa. We feel a bit left out. now i know there will probably be a whole lot of flame wars regarding this, i am sorry. i am just trying to get a nice mini pet for the Rugby world cup champions.
We really love the game, and appreciate all the game offers.
(just jealous of all the other countries getting promotions)

Hi , was just wondering if there is any Mini pet special editions for South Africa, or at least planned for South Africa

Its really annoying seeing the US getting all the nice pets and stuff, and you have to buy from them. Especially if you have all four campaigns
And you don’t get any special pets, or nothing

Thank you for responding, the thing is, the Guild Wars playing community in South Africa (the Rugby world champions), only received one mini pet trough a magazine, the NAG magazine, but we see a lot of other adds from other places in the world, and it would be nice if you considered us for a special mini pet as well. We really love the game, and it would be really special to us.

Yeah South Africa needs a mini pet promotion - so does Denmark (where i'm from ) ... any other countries feel left out??

more minis the better imo.

personally i think best idea for Anet to keep people playing if they're not giving another expansion is to make mini-pets a very very very rare drop. people will spend ages farming them for very little codeing.
Result more game time - less codeing time than more quests/missions/areas

I heartily endorse this event or post.

I say make every monster have a 1 in 200000000000000000 chance to get a mini-drop.

That way ill go farm smiteys again...

I'm not from S.Africa, but I will support it. I've already gotten 2 minipets from promotions in my country. Why shouldn't others getting it too?

It’s depending on weather or not South Africa has any 3rd party who would be interest in the promotional stuff and make a deal with NCSoft. Are there any gaming magazine over there that you think might take up the offer? Also how's the player base there?

Look at Australia, they have huge GW player base there and still hardly ever get anything.

I think it is a great idea to include the countries that get left out with the magazine promotions. The online magazine was a good idea although I don't think they were expecting the response and were totally overwhelmed. However, it does give access to everyone regardless of where they live.

The mini moa was another good idea...you had to work for it but it was available to anyone that had all three games and the expansion so again was available to everyone regardless where they live. Also, being ingame means it is not affected by any laws of other countries.

I know that some people think the mini pets are a waste of time but those players don't have to participate. Minipet promotions make a lot of players happy and is an easy thing for a-net to do...making it available world wide makes more sense and takes away a valid complaint of the neglected countries.

everyone who play guildwars pay for the game, so i think arena net should stop giving minipets code to one single region. whenever a mini pet is release, it should be available to all or not at all.

It's not that simple, is it? Unless they do what Gamezines did for the 40K mini dino, eg online give away. If the magazine publisher in South Africa has no interest in the promotion or if the fan base are small, NCsoft won't do it because it's not worth it. It's all about $.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for equal mini pet opportunity. But you can't always get what you want.

So how could everyplayer of every region have fair access to minipets?
Events (Mini-pig)
Craftable (Mini-black-moa)
Drops

exactly....why should some places get minis while others dont? Just to push sales in that region is not a good enough reason to pissoff the rest of the gaming community!
(still wtb panda.........hoping that it will get released it other areas soon)
