Maxing wisdom title do able?

I was just thinking, should arenanet lower the number of golden item identified required for the last 2 tiers of the wisdom title?

Since it is clearly near to impossible to get 10.000 golden items identified.

3000 golds identified yes, 4000 maybe, 5000 if you really try, but 10.000, no even nerds who do nothing else but grinding all day will find it near impossible to even get 5000 golden items identified.

What's your take on this, should arenanet change the title progress in such a way where it is still a very big challenge to get it maxed, but do able if you really put effort into it?

Assuming you play 3 hours a day, and farm n buy unids, lets say 20 golden items a day, it would still take someone 500 DAYS! thats about 1 and a half year! Okay so there are some people who sadly have nothing else in their lives but playing guild wars or cheat their way(buying gold fro ebay n then buying the unids) to get the title maxed, a person who plays 3 hours a day will have to grind for golden items for ages. What i ment by do able is, atleast bring back the number of unids needed so that it could be done within a year when playing 3 hours a day.

I've seen people with max wisdom title; source of wisdom before loot scaling was introduced. Its still possible now as well. Saw several people with font and oracle of wisdom a week ago. I myself have devourer of wisdom but I rarely play anymore. No reason to change it imo, there are people who will max it eventually. Just takes a bit of time and patience. Buying unidentified gold items speeds up the process if you have the platinum for it.

If you can do a thousand you can do ten thousand it's just a matter of time like most titles.

It's meant to be difficult; there are enough easy titles to max.

As with an above poster, I've seen a few people with Source of Wisdom. So it's certainly possible, if one has the inclination, time and funds.

i've got 10k ided on one character and another 5k on another. its doable. after i got max rank on one character, i stopped iding golds and have just been selling unids and i've supplied some people with enough unids to max out wisdom on a few characters. if you buy from other people, you just need a ton of money to keep it going. if you only id your own drops, yeah it'll take a long time.

It' perfectly doable... but no way with 10 chacters in less than 2 years.

It should be account wide.

You will find that most people that have maxed it also have maxed or nearly maxed treasure hunter due to the fact if one is good at chest running and has a bit of luck you can get both titles and make a nice profit in the process

People are telling you it's doable and you don't seem to want to hear it. You just want to moan about the title. Yeah the title is a little steep, but many have gotten the title and many will follow, it shouldn't be changed now because you feel overwhelmed. And the crack about the titleholders being either nerds or ebayers is just classless. Give it a try but mix it up, I often run a few hundred chests then take a break from it for months, time is on your side there is no hurry.

You don't buy unid is small groups of 20etc, you have to buy them by the 100's and do that everyday. Isn't a title that will be maxed by a poor person.

Its doable. You just have to do excessive amounts of gold farming, chest run alot or buy your golds. Its not even remotely possible through normal play.

do the chest opening one too which costs around 6 mil gold. from nice drops you can finance bulk buying unided items.

someone got 10k chest and 10k id titles a long long while ago.

takes time something you dont seem to want to put in.

titles are something to keep people playing gw till gwen and gw2. easy titles wont achieve that.

Hmm well I do remember someone here on guru who had a service where they paid to ID peoples golds for them..not sure if thats viable, but that person did get their title in the end.

One thing that was hinted at, but not made clear is that there is almost always someone spamming in LA that they have unidentified golds for sale usually seven of them, and usually for 4-5K. These are mostly crap golds but they are gold and unidentified. So if you just did that all day, buying 7 at 5K a pop you could do it for about 7,145 platimum. You would get some of that back by selling the items or salvaging worthwhile things for sale. But it would cost a lot. Now for Treasure Hunter, you do actually have to open all the chests or if you were really busy farming over Easter Weekend you could have got your hands on a couple of hundred Golden Eggs that were worth one treasure hunter point a piece when you picked them up. I am currently at level 4 on the Wisdom Track and know I have a long way to go.

BTW, there are places in the game where you can get low level golds on a fairly consistent basis. I expect to see 1-3 per 15 minute solo run, and have got as many as five on a single run.

I dont quite see how this is a gold sink. You either find the items, or buy them from other people, neither one of which gets rid of the money.

15k armor is a gold sink, fow armor is a gold sink, this isnt.

I would presume if you are going for wisdom title you would want to go for the chest title too.

chest title involved opening 10k chests which according to guildwiki would cost 6 million gold.

it would massively contribute to your wisdom title.

Ah I guess if you look at it that way its indirecty a gold sink, but yea, i get it now :P

heh i'm still offering that service (at least until i get deployed). currently have 200 available atm but can get more easily once i get a dedicated buyer.
