Why did they change this on the EU servers , its totally pathetic. Why should the French and Germans and all the others get there own private servers and we shouldnt? It shouldnt just be a open house like that and we should at least keep the district name , why not just make them all European districts , oh because its not fair on the French? Well why is it ok to take away ours , all we get in groups now is crap english speaking people who dont understand whats going on . Stay here doesnt mean full head on charge if your wondering.

`Complete waste of a download, waste of anets time and it shows that there thinking ahead . Lets get rid of english districts and name them so that it implies that its mixed languages here. Genius thinking , why do people doubt anet so much?

I think it could be an April Fools (we know what Anet are like for deadlines)

I agree totally though
Before the update people spammed mainly Polish and Russian in the English district and if you suggested they could talk English in an English district you'd either get asked where they should spam, as at the time there was no Russian or Polish dis or just get some abuse for a change.
After the update they still spam in the "Common" districts even now they have Polish and Russian districts and you can't say shut up as it's not an English district its a "Common" one

I think it's rather unfair that the English districts have never had 100% English speakers in there
I realise on occasion parties go through the other districts to look for members but English districts are the only ones that have always been a home for non-district language spam

I really like that idea. I'm not really happy being referred to as "common". I know it sounds prissy and snobby but we need our own districts. It's nice to mingle but if we had a common one then there would be none of a "You WILL talk to other languages". I'm by no means against other languages etc, but I think its a better atmosphere if we are allowed the choice.

I still think the US and English districts should be private and be as one because we all speak the same language and all this will do is allow more players to play with each other. Not too much to ask im sure.

@Keli - Why post if your not going to read? At least have the respect to see ones point of view before adding your own pointless opinion which helps the discussion in no way at all.

English district has always been full with people from other countries, right?

I mean, in almost every party I go in, there is a Dutch person. There are always Guilds recruiting from alot of other countries, and I never had a full English party yet.

Also, people always talked other languages in the English Districts... I think the only think that changed is the name of the district now ^^

Ok first off I did NOT suggest combining Euro and American Districts. I did suggest that American way of thinking MAY be the cause of this problem, and that EUROPE should have a dedicated English district. The American Districts work just fine (and are not the subject of this thread). So I am sorry for any confusion

You're joking right?! Dutch, Portugues, Swedish, Finnish, etc. never had their own servers!
Now, we all have at least one common server!

Arenanet has shown to be concerned about the European multi-ethnic situation, by giving us back common servers where all European languages are welcome.

Desegregation is a good thing in my opinion. I think its great that a French player can feel free to play somewhere "common" outside of his/her language based district. For me I really have no problem with seeing someone typing in a different language than my own.

The simple solution would be to have English and Common districts. I don't mind people from other languages in (what used to be) the English Districts as long as they speak English in the same way that I wouldn't go to foreign districts and speak English. The Dutch and Belgians type with better English than the Brits and I admire them for that. I know a few Croatians too that speak flawless english and it baffles me as to how people's brains can handle it.

How about when a group of people managed to type so much that, in order to have a conversation with another person in the district, you have to keep looking through all the chatter. I've had that happen to me a couple times now.

I only say this though, because I have no other districts to go to. Were I to have a district to call my own, I wouldn't care.

Yes, for the same reasons, I'm glad Arenanet put common districts in place.
I see people type things in languages I don't know either, but it's not like it's a "magical ward" against my known languages.

What about a group typing so much in English on subjects different from yours, that in order to have a conversation with another person in the district, you have to keep looking through all the other English chatter?

I find it easier to sort out responses to your subject, when people speak different languages instead of one, as you know responses to your subject will likely be the text lines in your language.

While I agree that desegragation is a good thing, I also feel in a game of skill, you should be able to team up with people who speak your language so you can communicate. I am not xenophobic at all, but I enjoy talking/communicating with people. That being said, I speak/read English and that is all. Call it my short comming for not being multiligual but the truth is I am not. And sometimes being able to communicate with people effectively is important.
I think a commoon district should occur, for me I use international districts for that. For othertimes I should have the ability to communicte with the majorit of players in the game. IMO. Its not being racist, its having a desire to communicate with fellow players
