If you have access to the /bonus bow r/w has a pretty big advantage from about level 9. I found w/r easier for charr but when I ran w/r the charr AI was easier to solo than the r/w charr AI (they had it where 1 of the charr would follow and the rest would stay behind).

I am fond of a M/E and farming the Skale outside Fort Ranik. You can take on all of them at once with Shielding Hands and Healing Breeze even at a lower level, and clear them out with a Firestorm. I have gotten alot of dye (including blacks) and alot of "Improved Sale Value" blues (50g+ each) from them. An average run takes maybe 2 minutes so the turn around can be alot.

Farming in P-S is stupid in it's own way. Orcourse it may produce some money (and if You stay there longer, Defender of Ascalon rank), but why don't you rather go to post-searing and hunt monsters that really drop something valuable.

if you're fighting against the charrs the rin blade with +7 rs vs. charrs and a quest award shield with +10rs vs charr will help a lot....
+17 armor is quite nice in pre-searing :P

perma pre chars are usualy made by expericed players and in pre ascalon its a lot less ways to farm also u never c bots and u really need 2 accounts to take advantage of pre farming i use both of my accounts to farm char 1 opens the gate then leave then i farm them and i farm the hunters ales also u can sell them for 100g ea in pre or u can save 10000 of them and move them to post for max drunkard title

So Dont Knock Pre Farming is for people that have got bored with post and have done every thing in post

I'm really stuck on deciding what secondary profession to choose for my ranger. As far as I know, secondary Mesmers can't use Empathy, but they also have things like Conjure Phantasm, Backfire, and Ether Feast. Necromancer has Deathly Swarm which deals cold damage. Cold damage = double damage vs. Charr? I'm not sure... but if it does, then it could be a pretty powerful spell and would make Necromancer a fine secondary choice. But there is also the nuking potential of Elementalist. Since I have a pet, I generally use it to distract mobs, and when you get a good mob and slam it with Firestorm, the whole thing will generally die. But without Energy Storage, I'm going to be raping my energy which I will probably need, as well, for self-healing. They all have advantages but drawbacks as well.

I haven't found this run very effective but it's easy and pretty entertaining. Pets are an asset in gathering aggro - you can lock your pet on a mob to maintain aggro from the south west skales while aggroing the north east skales, which speeds the aggro up a little.

I dunno if my spot is any good, but today I farmed bandits by barradins estate, at the botton left of the map and got 1 black, 2 greens and 1 purple in run.

i personally am a big fan of pre searing my first few months of gw were in pre sear but the bandit farm with the protection prayers quest and the bandit quest with the strongbox outside of ashford abbey really produces a lot of dyes got 2 blacks in one run with my mo/n one time

i too am putting a mesmer to the pre searing title..i jus wouldn't mind having some help with builds and what not...what are good ways to level up after level five from the charr at the gate quest. that can get me to level 8 i've been told but charr farming after that? or dye farming..either one wit an idea of what to bring would be good. right now... i'm Me with no secondary and i would prefer to wait and get a secondary at level 16 so is there anything i can get without actually getting a secondary that would help me out on soloing dyes or other stuff?

For quick experience gain farming for a Monk/Ele or Ele/Monk. I would run around and agro as many bears as I could in the folbees fair area. They follow when in agro range. Then hit them with both AOE spells firestorm and holy wraith? (Could be wrong on the monk AOE spell been awhile since I was there). Zone into the catacombs and return over and over and over.
