Difference between Margrid and Jin?
1 pages • Page 1
Not in my experience.
The only difference between mine is I always make Jin my beastmaster (each one has a different animal) and all my Margrid's interrupters. Likewise for Koss and Goren...they're both wammos at heart, so, if you take them, prepare to have them aggro everything
I find Jin's pet to be a suitable replacement for a warrior most of the time.

I haven't seen anything that matters (their armor is different, etc).
I find that there is almost no time at which 2 Ranger heroes are desirable, so I say it's fine to give them different attributes & headpeices (it would suck to have to buy a new rune each time you wanted to change a heroes primary attribute line).

Margrid's hotter.
Aaaand... Jin precludes getting the awesomesauce Sousuke (well, till the end of the game), and I like Sousuke.
On the two warriors... I generally make Koss a dragon slasher, with Distracting Blow, and Goren a hammerer, also with Distracting Blow.
Both of them are ok with any weapons build, I just prefer them that way. ^^ Also, warrior heroes are demons with interrupts... I've lost count of the RoFs they've nailed.

Most of the time, you'd be right, but there are times where I have been playing my Ranger and have had Jin and Magrid set up exactly like me (I play interrupter). You must know how 3 interrupters decimate caster bosses!!!
Once went into the mission in NF with the Drought with another dude and his heros. I told him to take Koss and Melonni as I was gonna run Jin and Magrid. He was a little confused about the 3 rangers until we faced The Draught and decimated it... hehehehehe
Looks wise, Jin OWNS Magrid!!! She is so much hotter, hehehehehe...

You don't necessarily have to run different builds. For example, my ranger uses a mini-Barrage/Pet build with myself, two ranger heroes with Barrage and slightly different builds along with a necro minion master/orders build. Many times, my first Nightfall character used two Searing Flames elementalist with the exact same build. Then again, you can also go with different builds. My monk uses a Spiteful Spirit necro with a minion master/bomber (haven't decided which one I prefer) necro.

If you're a ranger yourself, I'd suggest taking both. My ranger runs with both, so I've got 3 B/P and then olias as a N/R MM so that there's 4 pets in the party and 10 minions and 6 interrupts that get spammed everywhere. You steamroll just about every mission.
Not sure I've noticed a difference in how these two run their skills, though I have noticed zhed and sousuke behaving different even on the same skill set. I do think that margrids white primeval looks better than jin's zebra trim primeval though. Lorewise though, I think I'd trust jin more to watch my back than margrid.

Do not know if this happens to anyone else but for some reason my Jin seems to be more aggressive than Margird, and likewise Zhed more aggressive than Sousuke, even though they are both set on guard. And by aggressive i mean charging to attack stuff way off in the distance. Just wondering has anyone else experienced this.

i've actually noticed that my SF ele heros tend to run right into combat even if they are set to guard. i run a MM nercro most of the time so they are kind of there to help add a little to the DPS. they both have no problems running right into the middle of everything and losing half their hp. i don't have magrid, i personally like necros more, so i can't vouch for magrid vs jin, but zhed does die a lot more than souske does with the same build.
i think originally the question was about the ai.
since gw:en is adding 10 heroes (i'm guessing one of each profession), the idea is that you can have an axe warrior, hammer warrior and sword warrior setup without having to change anything.
for that matter i don't think the ai is any different between classes.
however, i put my vote in for Margrid as hottest ranger hero so far (i dig asians too but jin's a little butch for my tastes).
