Yeah I did sent them the ticket, Dex. Also sent the report when the crash happen as well. Not much anyone can do now, right?

I sent a ton of those email things and I also sent one through the Support on the GW.com website. But hopefully this update just fixed it.

Seems fixed. There is still a problem with 1024/768 and small interface size though.

Don't assume that because we post here that we don't also submit a support ticket and/or allow the bug report to be sent automatically.

I didn't assume anything. I just made a statement. No need to be defensive.

I'd say the slowdown in the number of posts about crashing is a good sign that the last update at least helped.

Are you talking to me? I wasn't assuming anything so you need to chill. I just posted that I sent one in. I didn't say that nobody else has sent one in or tried too, so no need to jump on me.

No, you don't say. Now if only I'd thought to send the error report in instead of posting about the crashing here everything would be alright.

Honestly it really is that simple.

I haven't crashed all day even after an image. No audio problems, no image problems no nothing. There truly is little that can be done in the way of community support if the problem is localized to a few specific hardware configurations.

Try this

Update Microsoft DirectX (Even if using Vista, it will update *some* of the DX9 layer files) - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Especially update the following
Video card drivers = most current *official* driver
Sound card drivers = update, especially if your using on-board sound

Uninstall and Reinstall Guildwars (in case the update did not install correctly / corrupted files).

Advanced users, just rename gw.dat file, launch guildwars and see if the re-downloaded one has the same issue, if so, delete your smaller gw.dat file and restore your backed up one.

Defrag the gw.dat file on your hard drive - http://www.plaync.com/us/support/doc_5362.html?prod=48

If your doing a trouble ticket with Anet support. Make a copy of the GuildWars short cut

Right click on the copy of short cut, change "~~~~~~/gw.exe" to "~~~~~~/gw.exe" -diag
It will generate a detailed report about your hardware, network info and attach that file (it will be found in your gw folder) with the support ticket.

I'm also getting these crashes now as well. Two within half an hour of each other. I haven't had any problems for 22 months but after this update it's a disaster, unplayable.

Well, I've been getting restarts every few minutes. No hardware changes or any reason to suspect overheating in my system. This is the first time I've been playing for more than 1 hour since the big update.

If you have broadband, what you can do is delete the Gw.dat file, then create a shortcut on your desktop/quicklaunch(it's what I do), and use the switch -image.

Shortcut Target "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe" -image

and it will redownload the client with all the patches. It usually takes an hour or two to download everything for me

What is this supposed to achieve?
You are suggesting that file is corrupt I suppose but the crashes are completely random and I can repeat an area that crashed previously and it doesn't crash the second time so that would suggest the Gw.dat is ok.
EDIT: Been playing another three hours and no crash so guess it is a rare combination of events and will probably be hard to fault find.
