There is nothing wrong with pointng out what you may see as a problem with the game, but it is also nice to let people know what is good with the game. If I were to judge this game by a good portion of the posts I would never have bought it. I just wanted to hear what people like about the game and why they continue to play it.
How about some positive comments instead of bashing GW.

In other words: it's when no one is complaining that you're doing things wrong

I love my GW, but I think I love reading complaints more.
Everytime there's an update I jet over here to see who's complaining. No need to question, its the ussual complainers, but its funny reading.
Same thing goes for weekend events. I get a hoot over all the complaints, second guessing, and sheer nonsense over 2 day events. Or when people lable them "n00b weekends".
What I think is funny, is no matter what goes on in GW, people complain. Say Halloween for instance, people complained they were giving out pumpkin heads again.
Or when they increased storage for salvage items, people complained it wasn't enough and top it off with a " where's our auction house".
In fact most complaints are topped off with "and where's our auction house".
lol I crack up everytime someone posts that. Its funny watching people beg.
It's like I get my cake and eat it too. I enjoy playing my GW, and I enjoy reading about people suffering from every little thing that happens in it.

It's pretty logical- if I didn't care, I'd sell my GW (or not) and I'd just stop playing it And, yeah, I still play And I still complain Because I want GW to be the best game I care ^^ |
I always thought people complained because we're all a bunch of spoiled little americans/canadians/brits/etc. But hey, what do I know, I'm just some spoiled american who's used to getting what I want, when I want it. :P

People that pay for things never complain. It's the guy you give something to that you can't please.

Those are great, Lakatz.
Constructive complaints arent always a bad thing though. And yes, there's a severe lack of them and positive comments on these boards. But usually it's repeat offenders that are constantly complaining.
If you hang out on these boards long enough, you pretty much can tell who are the constant whiners and who are the ones who give constructive complaints. Most of the time I can ignore them but sometimes seeing post after whining post gets on my nerves...

Many more are, but you will not hear them that much, they are enjoying playing instead of sharing that on a forum like this.
But, when people 'complain', you have to consider why.
For example, I participated in some threads about the state of the Mesmer in the game. I think at least part of the 'complains' are valid, the game mechanics do not support a focus character like Mesmer or Sin.
Then there have been the recent HA 'complaints'.
Some just have to do with change (people have to adapt, which take time).
Others have to do with game mechanics that were not a big problem in the old setup, but are in the new (spike teams because of killcount, spiritway to 'exploit' Soul Reaping). This has also to do with change, but it's harder to adapt and possibly gives too much advantage to certain team builds (imbalance).
Furtermore, there is one reason i've just discussed with two people online tonight: being bored with the game.
We all three are not really looking forward to progress yet an other character through the game. Or get protectors on X.
That's because the PvE mechanics of the game stay the same and after doing a mission several times, you know where which enemies pop up and how to counter them.
This is one of the reasons I shifted from PvE to more PvP focus early this year.
Atm, I have no PvE goals anymore. I don't care about FoW, gold or special weapons. Got a couple of double protectors, but can't push myself to get the third in Elona.
So I have set some PvP goals, first getting PvP experience, then becoming a decent PvP player. Now it's more about getting a lot of experience so I can lead (guild) teams in GvG or HA.
That, combined with the guild i'm in at the moment, keeps me playing.
It's not strange those things happen.
I, for example, have hardly touched an other game since I started playing GW.
That means it has a lot to offer.
But also that at some time, boredom will strike.
Will you hear me complain a lot?
I hope not.
Will you hear me cheer a lot?
Not that much and more in real life than on this forum.

Would you play if you unlocked cities on an account basis, such that getting your warrior to Vabbi opened it for all your characters?
Thx!

But there is basic stuff that has to be fixed, and it seems like the devs have been sleeping for 1,5 years now...
Yes,ppl complain cause they want to see the game get better and better.Through argument .. like in war, ideas tend to evolve and ppl are forced to find answers to the problems they need to resolve.Simple reason.Ofcourse GW still got alot of problems, i could make a long list but.....
As for positive comment about GW.I bought all 3 campaigns, finished them. This is in its self shows how game is good with out a comment.Plannig on getting GWEN preorder.Nough said.

As long as criticism is constructive and reasonable, I don't see why we shouldn't complain.
"OmGzor GW is teh suk LoLZ" isn't going to fly, but a detailed , logical, and well written proposal to improve a certain aspect will certainly draw attention from the devs.
Hint, see actionjack's "Titles" post a few months back.
Devs actually listen.

Even if that meant that I don't get the end game greens.
I still like to help others around in the game (specially missions), which is the most important reason for me to PvE.
