Solo UW Smite run!

Okay, first, skills!

Vampric Touch
Vampric Bite
Whirling Defense
Throw Dirt
Offering of Blood
Lightning Reflexes
Dodge
Zojun's Haste

Attributes:

12 Blood Magic
12+1+3 Expertise
Rest in beast mastery since you'll become a beast!

Okay... This is kinda like normal smite run. When you enter UW grab the quest. Take one group of graspings a time and use dodge to avoid bringing Aatxe's. Use T D - W D - T D - L R and they should be dead (And touch skills)
Then the running. Run past first group and chill a bit. Then when Dodge and Zojun's is recharged run past the next 4 Aatxe's and 3 Graspings / 2 Graspings + Dying Nightmare. Graspings will follow so I suggest you kill these. Then just go for smites, if anything goes wrong run away and take rest of group after some secs of rest.

Didn't had time to make so big build but hope you enjoy. Also wanted to prove this is possible. Coldfires ain't hard either since they do elemental damage.

how long does a run usually take?

Hmm, goes really fast by smites ... 1 group is dead in 30-60 sec.
And... the slow part is start which can take about 5 min getting to smites. So ... 15-25 min for a average run? Still it's ain't 100%... I die before finishing all smites like 1/3 ... Still I've got about 10 ectos in 3 hours

Everything is faster than trapping.

Only thing I like about solo trapping is I can kill aatxes.

well doesn't work at all for me. the grasps drain me and there is nothing i can do about it.
The fist one i attack will always run away at 50% and i can hardly cill one of the others.

If the one you are killing runs at 50% health just take a melee weapon so you can attack, if you are attacking then they will not run.

If you are only damaging one then it shouldn't run... if it does hit it with a wand and it will come zooming right back.

I don't see how this is faster than trapping... trapping might only be slower because your killing Aataxes, while with this your just running past them. You can drop all 10 Grasping Darknesses in 50 seconds, and Smites drop in ~30-40 seconds.
And while this is more profitable during the weekend, when the weekend is over faster smite runs also makes you pay more often to get in, whereas by killing Aataxes you are paying less and still having a chance to snatch ectos.

Solution for grasps draining you: don't let them hit you, you can cycle whirling def, throw dirt, lightning reflex and such quite well really, just make sure you Throw Dirt when WD/LR is still on so it's harder for them to hit it with Distracting Blow. If they're not hitting you, they can't use Fear Me.

Wow good call on that toucher! I'm getting a little swamped by the smites, but my reflex is to *not* attack them and they keep breaking ago on me.

Did we ever sort out what damage type the smites do? I think it was piercing.
