Random Arean's are always good to try out your new builds or have fun in general. I like to using my pet in ab, most people tend to ignore him so i like to use a critical bite, the results are pretty good in the games i play, here's my skills.

R/Mo

BM - 16 (12+3+1)
Exp -10
WS -10
Mk - 10
(Runes are used here obviously)

Longbow (33% poison bowstring)

AP at the start of any battle, between Savage shot & Predator's Pounce you can deal very high damage one after the other pretty quickly as they have 3 & 5 second recharge respectively and Apply poison duration will take out anyone that runs/kites away. Distracting Shot cancel's out an opponent's res sig or most powerful skill for the longest time enabling you to get the job done.

Mending touch to loose any condt'ns & natural stride to get to or escape from any situations. if your pets near death let him die then use Heal as One(E) to res straight away with 100% health to carry on the battle (which is so annoying for the person that just finished your pet off)

Counters: Assassin's are the only problem i've come across so far, if they strike 1st its hard to recover but do-able, 1-3 chance. Natural stride to help evade, Mending touch then Pred Pounce (to call your pet) & Heal as one, D'Shot to throw him off his game then see where you are from there

I dont think these skills are unique but rather forgotten by most in favor of the newer builds, & with my tigers roar it helps put the chills on the opponents your attacking.

I like being a Dagger Ranger in AB. Surprisingly it works really well. My skills + attrib:

12 Dagger
12 Expterise
10 WS

Some Lead
Some Dual
Nine Tail Strike
Moebis Strike
Apply Poison
Whirling Defense
Troll Ungent
Storm Chaser

Oh, I use Luntos Pincers.

My old favorite build was w/ Poison Arrow, some interupts, Flame+Barbed+Dust Trap, Whirlin D, Ungent

I loved setting traps in Saltspray on bridge near Dragon Roost.

I tend to use either Cripshot or Burning Arrow w/ Pin Down. Crip is great for pissing off the ridiculous stream of warriors or assassins with no common sense.

Setting traps is always fun. Specially on the above metioned morons who WILL walk upto you and try to hit you even though they saw you place it...

I have been utilizing a R/Me with Crip Shot and Epidemic...it's absolutely hilarious to see "The Mob" all limping at the same time, because no one decides to bring condition removal in AB.

Crippling traps are incredibly fun as well around choke points.

The key, as many experienced ABers know, is to cap faster than your enemy...which a steady dose of crips will accomplish.

[skill]Savage Shot[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill][skill]Apply Poison[/skill][skill]Burning Arrow[/skill][skill]Natural Stride[/skill][skill]Mending Touch[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill][skill]Dodge[/skill]

Poisonous Recurve used most of the time, but a Poisonous Longbow is pulled out to snipe NPCs at a distance when solo capping. It's not the most origional build in the world, but it does the job just fine.

[skill]Holy Veil[/skill]
instead of dodge... I use that sometimes when in Fort Aspenwood so that i stand a chance vs Hexers and Sp sins.

NS does have a fast recharge, but it would raise the time between caps to lose another run stance. Guess it's an option.

Also, a good interupt is the best way to counter sins imo. If the interupt fails, you can still trigger Natural Stride and mess them up that way, just as long as you wait until after you become hexed to activate it.

I have a lot of fun with the Expertise Sin Build in AB

[skill]Jagged Strike[/skill][skill]Fox Fangs[/skill][skill]Horns of the Ox[/skill][skill]Falling Spider[/skill][skill]Shadow Refuge[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill][skill]Escape[/skill]

Expertise: 12+3+1
Dagger Arts:10
Shadow Arts: 8

or I'll go with something along the lines of:
[skill]Apply Poison[/skill][skill]Burning Arrow[/skill][skill]Distracting Shot[/skill][skill]Needling Shot[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Savage Shot[/skill][skill]Natural Stride[/skill]
sometimes I will take WD and/or NS out and put in Mending Touch and/or some other skill. Depends on how I feel.

Marksmanship: 12+3+1
Expertise: 9+1
Wilderness: 9+1

Put me down as another cripshot user. Was pretty fun dancing around warriors while keeping them perma-crippled and then interrupting their healing signet/breeze with a d-shot. Not sure how effective this still is with mending touch in the game, as I have not done AB since Nightfall.

I usually run this...

[skill]Punishing Shot[/skill][skill]Dual Shot[/skill][skill]Kindle Arrows[/skill][skill]Conjure Flame[/skill][skill]Dodge[/skill][skill]Lightning Reflexes[/skill][skill]Whirling Defense[/skill][skill]Troll Unguent[/skill]

When I want to put in a condition it's either,

[skill]Burning Arrow[/skill]

or

[skill]Crippling Shot[/skill]

@ Sparhawk:
Mending Touch has hurt the effectiveness of Cripshot builds, but I've found that most people who have Mending Touch on their bars in ABs are other rangers.
