Rollerbeetle Arena Top 100 Rewards

Those who placed in the Top 100 in the Rollerbeetle Arena are entitled to a wonderful prize: The Miniature Greased Lightning Rollerbeetle. For those winners who have not yet collected their prize, don't fear – all is well! As you may have read, this weekend we're holding a special "Gamer Weekend" event. This will allow access to the Dragon Arena, the Shing Jea Boardwalk, and, yes, the Rollerbeetle Arena. (This is sure to be popular with everyone, as the RBA was a huge success!)

Gamer Weekend begins on Friday, February 23, at Noon PST (20:00 GMT). During the weekend, while the Rollerbeetle Arena is open, those in the Top 100 who have not yet picked up their Miniature Greased Lightning Rollerbeetle will be able to do so. The Gamer Weekend will run through Sunday night at 11:59 p.m. PST (Monday at 7:59 GMT). So be sure you pick up your prize this weekend. (Please note: As stated in the announcements of the Rollerbeetle Arena event, only one prize will be rewarded per account, no matter how many characters may have placed on the winners' list.)

This is a great event to be holding! These mini-games are an absolute blast to play. Heck, I'd be happy if they were available year-round with no rewards at all. Looking forward to this weekend, it should be a blast!

BTW Gaile, could you be kind enough to clear up whether Anet plans to award beetles to the top 100 scoring accounts? Right now it seems that only the top 100 scores have been awarded the prize (one per account, of course). I'm sure those who just missed the top 100 cut would like to know if they'll be geting a prize or not.

Here's a bit more information about Gamer Weekend:

• During Gamer Weekend, two ladders will be visible. There will be a current ladder that reflects records from Gamer Weekend only, as well as one that is frozen to reflect what took place during the Canthan New Year's Event.
• There will be no special prizes, like the Rollerbeetle Mini, during Gamer Weekend.
• Players who have not yet claimed their prizes must do so by the end of Gamer Weekend.

Also, I've read on these boards that the top 100 on each server received a mini-pet, rather than the overall top 100. If that's the case, the mini isn't quite as rare as I had originally thought (though it's definitely still rare). Can anyone confirm this? I just want to know in case I decide to buy my lovely little mini a companion beetle (b/c price range might be affected).

That sounds exciting! Playing all this Roller Beetle Racing stuff has gotten me re-hooked at another aspect of Guild Wars. How nice in the fact that playing this gives me nostalgia from the old Mario Kart games . It's awesome seeing Guild Wars incorporating more than just the average MMORPG stuff. Racing ftw!

Also, I was beginning to be afraid that many of the people who have not claimed the prizes yet wouldn't have a chance, but this is nice, since I noticed that you couldn't enter the rollerbeetle arenas at around 7:00 p.m. PST last night. I dare say maybe less than 50 beetles were collected last night, since I'm sure many people are busy during the weekdays and may not of had time to collect the pet during the ~7 hour span.

I can't wait for this weekend! (you can bet I'm going to get back on the ladder again just for the heck of it)

Is there anyway to find out whether or not we actually qualify for a prize from the past weekend? As of last night we couldn't get into the RBR zone, and last time I checked the ladder had all the dupes that were going to be filtered out. I really hope you don't say check back this weekend, as I and I'm sure others, can't always make it to every event (In my case, the company provided cruise to Cozamel will be keeping me off the internet from thurs - monday night ) Moving the prize NPC to shing jae or even the battle isles would solve the issue quite nicely

Yeah, I was wondering why they didn't distrubute prizes through a / command (e.g., /bonusitems for CE pets)--perhaps /rollerbeetle.

Perhaps it just presents too many coding difficulties.

It's just not possible for us to log on every day, or even every weekend. Real life too often gets in the way.

So, let me get this straight - there were uber prizes for the event when it wasn't working right and cheating was possible to get into the top 100. But now that you have had a week to fix it to keep cheating out of it, there will be no special prizes? - yeah, good idea on that one ANET.

That's an interesting point, although your tone is a little icky.

I've read a little about the "spike entering" exploit (or, if you prefer, cheating). Has Gaile responded to this? She may have, in which case I missed it.

If she has, can someone link me please? I'm curious to see how anet feels about this.
