Missing Mask -- Can you help?

Hi,

I was visiting players in the game tonight during the 9:00 (PST) event and went to lead a celebratory Conga while my mask waited on the ground. By the time I got back, someone else had, mistakenly I'm sure, picked it up.

Could you please check your inventory and see if that you may have mistakenly picked up the mask? I was in ID#1 of Shing Jea Monastery. If you have the mask, I'd like it back. It is labeled as Gaile Gray Europe.

Gaile insisted it was an accident. However, the mentality of players in this game is pretty low standard, and they most likely took it after the 10 min wait period (I picked up her 16 gift bags and returned them to her) to make a profit by selling it. This is called being a SNEAKY LITTLE THIEF, and... you stole from the wrong person bub.

I was there Gaile, I and i feel for you. I will make sure you get your mask, and the perpatrator will be punished. I will continue to check the auctions and ventraries sell for the "Gaile Gray Mask"

I'm sure it's a mistake, and that someone, even tomorrow, will look in inventory and say "What the heck? Where did that come from" and PM me so I can get my mask. No questions asked, obviously.

My pleasure Gaile, I always enjoy being in your company. But I think that you are being a bit too forgiving of human nature right now. People are always out for their own benefit. The INSTANT your mask was no longer bound to you as a drop, someone picked it up, I didn't think to watch who, assuming they would give it to you (again, a misjudgment in human nature). I picked up your bags by rapidly clicking on them, I tried to get all the items for you, but some people were faster then I as on the mask. Your known around about 80-90% of the community, and many people admire you Gaile. The simple truth is, and item "autographed" by you would sell for a large amount to a big Gaile Gray fan. This person did not accidentally stand near your hat, and then rapidly click to pick it up the second it was unbound. I saw this coming, which is why I broke from the Conga line in the first place, to try and get your stuff before self centered jerks did this type of thing. I should have clicked the mask, bags are easily had by other generous players, but the mask is customized, making its "Black Market" value very high to specific buyers. Hopefully, a true Gaile Gray fan would report the seller and get you back your mask though, instead of selfishly hording it. Hope the thief turns up for you Gaile. I was there when the mask went missing, and I am certain that it was a mistake. I just hope you get your mask Gaile. The only reason someone would keep the mask would be to sell it, so if that is the case it will pop up in a couple days on an auction of some sort.

are you not able to use your admin powers and get it back?

or simply get a new one?

or go on another character, get a hat, then goto the hat crafter, learn the hat, then go back on gaile gray and make it again for 10g

after all its only a virtual item.

i'm sure theres many ways to go about this, personally i would just forget it and get a new one, if you heard all the stories that happened to me from people like that you would freak..

Wouldn't Anet have logs off all the convosations/stuff being picked up in towns? I'm sure they do, maybe it'd show "<insert name here> picks up Lion Mask" maybe?

If it pops up, try negotiating

It isn't the mask that Gaile is mad about I am pretty sure. It is the fact that she does a lot for the community as a whole and is very nice to everyone, and someone had the audacity to steal from her even after all that. The act is what makes it bad, not the missing item itself.

If anything does popup, forget negotiating, try BANNING. Stupid thieves...

That club named permaban should be sufficient negotiating power.

Here's a possible solution. You could either borrow my mask or another's and show it to the Festival Hat producer to create yourself a copy. The fact that it is customized to me doesn't matter anyway.
