Top sunspear/lightbringer titles

ok i have been a sunspear castellan for some time now, working on the quests but there doesnt seem to be a spearmarshal title coming out of them. i dont have that much in lightbringer but i know its not easier to gain.

does anyone know how to gain these titles?

Lightbringer, farm your ass off. Spearmarshal, not yet.

ANet has dropped the ball on this one. There is currently no way to max the sunspear title since they nerfed the afk farm way of getting it. I never really considered this a legitimate method anyway because if you err'7ed or messed up at all, you would be stuck at sunspear rank 8 forever. A similar story with the lightbringer title. The only sane way to obtain the max level was to afk farm it. ANet stepped in and trounced this after a large group had already maxed out the title. Talk about balance in the game.. or lack thereof. You have a select group running around with max lightbringer while the rest of us stuck at rank 3-5.

At least you know who the AFKers are.

I think Anet are being silly about this, trying to over-complicate an easy update. All they have to do is simply make it so that you can continue to get Bounties until Spearmarshal. I have a feeling they are making some stupid unnecessary way of doing it, that will not be fun at all.

I totally agree with above post, and I also find it wierd that anet allowed r7 res method for soo long when they were well aware of it.

I'm personally waiting for my friend to get up to the desolation until I start in on the 4-5 hours it takes to get SpearMarshall, and you don't have to be an AFK farmer to be the max lightbringer. I'm almost there, farming outside the Gate of Secrets.

Alternatively ....

You do what I did and stepped outside Nightfallen Jahai...threaded a route to grab as many shrines/blessings as poss then turned turned and swept the area....500-900 points a run..... 3-6 chests....

Not everyone AFK's their Holy Lightbringer thanks......

Domain of Secrets is the place to go to get Lightbringer points, hundreds of points per run is normal for me. I am getting close to Revered but am dreading the long haul to Holy Lightbringer. There are even critters from FoW out there and you can get a blessing for them as well. Unfortunately, I have not seen any Obsidian Shards drop off of them!

QFT. I can think of no reason what so ever that you can't continue to collect bounties. Right now, Spearmarshal is literally impossible to get. As for Lightbringer, I got to level 5 (Vanquishing Lightbringer) and got tired of grinding for it (no AFK for me).

My point for the holy lightbringer thing is why make it so hard to max a title that actually offers in game advantage? Especially since there are a group of players that maxed it the AFK method and the rest are stuck spending 5 hours a day for 3 months trying to get it. If there were no damage reduction or +% dmg associated with lightbringer then I wouldn't have room to complain. Since there is, they should make max lightbringer more attainable for the rest of us. I recommend at least upping the bounty in torment to +4 and +7 in DoA.

I haven't even bothered going for Lightbringer yet, I'm rank 2 on my warrior it just takes too long to get it.

Sunspear really needs to be fixed, and they will most likely do so in a manner that ticks off lots of people.

As for Lightbringer you only need rank 3, if that to beat the game. The higher ranks are needed to do DoA.

The problem Anet had with maxing either of these titles is that they both apply to Kind Of a Big Deal tittle.

This is a silly excuse when you think about how easy it is to get Protector tittles maxed out and how insanely hard/expensive most all the other tittles are....

Agreed 100% - what's wrong with 2 more titles being more easily attainable than say survivor or ale hound? We have enough titles that will take forever to get as it is....

Edit : I am more than happy to work for my titles... I am not interested in mindless grind or gold sink... thats called WoW

see i agree whole heartedly, the lightbringer titles do help you in the game, so i can see how they can allow a little difficulty but the sunspear title only shows how well you are at the game(at least thats how i see it) so why make them so hard?

o and what was the AFK farming? never heard of it!(probably before i got to lightbringer points)

Lol, forget you guys... I'm halfway to Holy Lightbringer...Anet don't change it now, I worked too hard...

I do 1,000 to 2,000 points a day, everyday.. And drink Ale as I do so.

you may be halfway there but they cut off the bounties once you get so far.
