Idea for new "invinsi" monk

Okay, so I was bored so I started click random page on wiki, and I came across Shield of Absorption. It was there that I came up with this idea for a build.

"For 3...6 seconds, damage received by target ally is reduced by 5 each time that ally is hit while under the effects of this enchantment."

With a 20% longer enchantment weapon, and 8 points in Divine Favor (with Divine Aura), you have a 10 second long enchantment to cover the recharge.

With 55 health and protective spirit, you take absolutely no damage, and can maintian it if you do not get shield of absoption interupted. (has 1/4 cast time, so it's be hard)

So I was wondering, would this idea work for a new invisi-monk? right now I am going to try and get my monk over to Elona to get the skills to check this build. If it works, I'll post a build later.

IT WORKS!!!
I tried it against the minos in elona and iwas take 0 dmg from them!

-I also have poor attribute point management, so some people could pull it off better.
-Also, Zelot's Fire can be taken out along with any of the 3-5 skills
-Shield of absoption MUST be instantlly reapplied since the lenth of the enchantment is the same as the recharge time
-Lastly, you need to have at least 14 prot and 8 divine to make this work without dieing

this could definetely work. good thinking, and keep expanding on the idea

Idk, I don't think it'll work because warrior absorbtion has no effect on damage while under protective spirit. (yes, I'm lame enough to try a 55 warrior :P)

seems like the best use for this skill >_>

I like the idea...the thing is that it depends on whether Protective Spirit comes before or after Shield of Absorbtion.

works ok in some parts of Fractions. Don't even need to cast HB. just medling at +3 and your set.. have to try the UW later

I was thinking about this skill as well when I looked on the wiki and are you useing superior runes.You DF should be at 9.

I'm sure Anet saw this commin. It's no biggie. Plus, one little messup and your gonna eat it, hardcore.

ya alota folks have used this skill in there 55 set from day one of nightfall.. i myself use it for the sunspear bug farming.. makes it more easy than standard.55....

as long as your not facing intterupts its almost as good as pre nerf spirit bond..

sooo your not the first.. so there is no need to pm anything..

remember there are a ton of folks playing this game.. and some like me have been thinkin of farming builds with nightfall skills from the pvp event on..

try prot spirit, sheild of absorbtion, bonneties (for the one second buffer), soj, blessed sig, balths spriit, blessed aura, mending, and watchfull spirit,

that will make farming anything that has a decent ammount of degen and no interupts super easy

for no degen baddies simply pull out watchfull in favor of somthing more task specific

always leave in mending though.. because if somthing goes wrong it can keep you alive for a lot longer than withought

I believe this skill (Shield of Absorption) uses were more aimed at pvp then pve, and if they WERE aimed at pve it was aimed at farmers, so I highly doubt it will get nerfed.

P.S. Incase your wondering in pvp this is vgood skill to reduce a spike with fast. Prot Spirit+Shield of Absoprtion FTW

Good game ANet, you nerfed Spirit Bond, and created an even more overpowered farming spell! - Expect this to be nerfed in the next couple of days.
