The Story of Gwen continues!

as far as traking her i can tell that she left her flute behind in ascalon, lost her cape in the maguma jungle area, and her flower made it all the way to elona.
i'm guessing that soon after the searing some of her reletives took her to across the mountains to kryta where maybe she was killed. her reletives then took her flower to remember her and returned to ascalon to see what happened after about a year or two. charr attacked them and made them retreat south into the desert. they eventually, against all odds, found vabbi and continued south to where the flower was found but in the end were killed by corsairs.
that sound about right?

Ever since Nightfall was released there have been all sorts of Gwen reports. This thread details the official response to the Preserved Red Iris Flower's link to Gwen. Anyways...let's look at the facts. According to the Unified Timeline only 5 years has gone by in-game. Gwen would be in her early to mid teens by now. Her mom is dead but what about her father? Due to her awesome Monk powers I'd say that at her age she'd likely go to study her art somewhere. Shing Jea Monastary maybe? It could be years, which would likely translate into 1 or 2 more expansions, before she leaves.
It would be refreshing to have her as a Monk/probably Elementalist(due to her tendency to destroy people with Meteors and Firestorm) NPC. Mhenlo sucks. He's like some kind of stalker. Everywhere I go I'm always bunmping into him. Where my bear mase when I need it?

Sorry for all those coming up with some.... creative theories. Mine is more rational:
Looking at all the rumors from older forums, I've concluded that the Gwen quest was once the only quest to span both the Pre-Searing and Post-Searing. People could once get a Tapestry Shred from her, find her Broken Flute in Old Ascalon, discover a Tattered Cape outside Fisherman's Haven (and maybe also hear some NPC talk concerning her), and locate a Dead Flower near Sanctum Cay. These items where then handed over to the ghost of Sarah in the UW to procede with the quest, and finally, Gwen's ghost appeared deep in the UW to complete it.
The quest was meant for the first person who thought far enough ahead to find and keep all of the items up to this point, then, once it was completed for the first time, ANET began to dismantle it. First Gwen's Ghost and the Dead Flower were removed, then the Tattered Cape, and now the Broken Flute. Because one party actually did complete the quest, but because no one else could afterwards, these details became popular rumors.
This is all just my theory. I for one am very excited to know of the Preserved Red Iris Flower. I heard that someone from ANET was pleased to hear of people's interest in Gwen, so maybe they included more clues about her in NF!

I hope you all remember Men In Black...
The Litch was just working out, and Shiro had a cold...

[in a shooting range, confronted with numerous menacing-looking targets, Edwards shoots a cardboard little girl] Zed: May I ask why you felt little Tiffany deserved to die? James Edwards: Well, she was the only one that actually seemed dangerous at the time, sir. Zed: How'd you come to that conclusion? James Edwards: Well, first I was gonna pop this guy hanging from the street light, and I realized, y'know, he's just working out. I mean, how would I feel if somebody come runnin' in the gym and bust me in my ass while I'm on the treadmill? Then I saw this snarling beast guy, and I noticed he had a tissue in his hand, and I'm realizing, y'know, he's not snarling, he's sneezing. Y'know, ain't no real threat there. Then I saw little Tiffany. I'm thinking, y'know, eight-year-old white girl, middle of the ghetto, bunch of monsters, this time of night with quantum physics books? She about to start some shit, Zed. She's about eight years old, those books are WAY too advanced for her. If you ask me, I'd say she's up to something. And to be honest, I'd appreciate it if you eased up off my back about it. [pause] James Edwards: Or do I owe her an apology? |

She'd be in her late tweens/early teens. *sigh* How did The Searing change sweet, adorable Gwen?
