We're currently investigating this issue, and hopefully we're closing in on the cause. If you are experiencing the Code=072 issue at the moment, you can assist with getting this nailed. Affected players should:

1. Click Start -> Run

2. Type in “netstat –a” without quotations

3. Copy the results and give them to us by sending a ticket to the Support team

I just got error 72 also. Running guildwars with -image seemed to have fixed the problem. I downloaded 5 files and I could log in again. It was either that or the nice people at Anet fixed the problem while I was reading this thread.

edit: went to start > run and typed netstat -a. Got in again after that

I haven't done netstat -1 yet, but it seems to be OK at the moment.

I just kept spam logging in. Seemed to let me in, in the end.

its 1:30pm central time here, im getting 72.

I can't get in. Still getting err 72.

And maybe I'm dumb but I don't understand what start>run netstat means? :s

I was having the same prob. and after a hr of trying to get in i rebooted my pc and got in the first time after that.

I was getting it too untill i started trying over and over, and it let me in aftera bout 5 or 6 tries

I got 072 just now. I tried what Alex said and it flashed a screen that quickly went away.

Tried the netstat -a thing, didn't copy to clipboard, still got code 72ed.

Used -image command, didn't help.

Restarting computer worked though. Logged in on first attempt.
